Our Young Professional programme offers graduates the opportunity to discover their true potential. Over the course of two years, you will receive extensive coaching and personal guidance while gaining hands-on experience as a Young Professional in consultancy, sales, and development. By bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world practice, you will quickly build the expertise to make a tangible impact.

My name is Luuk van der Werf, I studied Applied Mathematics in Enschede between 2018 and 2025. During my time at the University of Twente, I was an active student at W.S.G. Abacus. I was a member of various committees, such as the PixCie, Twick-In, (A)bac(ch)us, and many more. On top of that, I was part of the 53rd board, as Secretary and Officer Internal Affairs.

As a student I did both my Bachelor's and Master's in Applied Mathematics. I specialized my Master's in Operations Research, specifically I graduated at the DMMP chair with Clara Stegehuis. After graduating in April 2025, I quickly came in contact with Slimstock. Already in June 2025, I started as a Young Professional at Slimstock. The Young Professional programme is a two year programme focussed on starters in the working field with a Master's in studies like Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Industrial Engineering, etc. The goal of the programme is to find your passion within the company. You can shape your own programme and agenda, focusing on projects you like, for example development, consultancy, BI, sales, etc. You follow this programme with a group of young like-minded people, and we do a lot of fun activities together outside of work.

During my first year at Slimstock, I have focused on a lot of different projects, including development and consultancy. One development project I am working on is a machine scheduling tool. For me, this is the perfect intersection of supply chain and mathematics. On this project I get the freedom to develop and improve this tool, while also piloting the first implementations of this tool at customers.

My name is Carlijn Meijerink, I did my Bachelors in Technical Computer Science (2018-2021) and my Masters in Industrial Engineering and Management (2022-2024) with a specialisation in Production and Logistics Management. During my time at the University of Twente I was an active member at Inter-Actief, organising activities like our Symposium and Pandora. Between my Bachelor and Master I also took a year to organise the Kick-In of 2022, which was amazing to give many students a good start at student life.

I started at Slimstock in January 2025 as Young Professional and already have had the opportunity to work on many different projects. I have been involved in consultancy projects, did improvement projects with some of our largest clients and more recently have been involved in the roll-out of two new solutions that we are offering. This brings me more to a project management roll right now, which is very exiting to explore and also offers me the opportunity to connect with many Slimstock colleagues from around the world.
