Centre for Quantitative Methods CQM

CQM helps organizations make better decisions in complex situations, delivering measurable results in cost, risk, and performance.

By combining mathematical expertise - such as industrial statistics, optimization, and AI - with deep domain knowledge in logistics and innovation, CQM helps organizations solve complex business challenges. We translate data into well-founded choices that lead to better decision-making. Using solutions based on statistical techniques such as Design of Experiments and optimization models, including simulations and digital twins, we make scenarios transparent and evaluate decisions in advance.

With a team of around 45 quantitative consultants, CQM combines 45 years of experience with close collaboration and a tailored approach, ensuring that insights translate into tangible results and strategic advantage.

Matthijs Tijink

My name is Matthijs Tijink. I studied Applied Mathematics in Enschede from 2010 to 2017, specializing in Operations Research. As a student, I loved being active at Abacus, joining activities, serving on committees, and being a board member. I also liked learning and applying mathematics, from deep mathematical theories to modelling in practical projects.

Luckily, in my job at CQM, I still have that same feeling: solving puzzles and thinking creatively about challenging problems! Every day I talk to customers and develop and apply models to create real-world impact. This involves all kinds of creative mathematical thinking, and tools from operations research, statistics and machine learning. As a consultant, I have a lot of variety in projects, so I never get bored. Just as importantly, all my colleagues are fun, smart and approachable, which makes CQM a great place for me! I’m happy to tell you more about what my work looks like in practice and share some examples of the projects I’ve worked on.

We are thankful and proud to announce that CQM is a sponsor for the AM-ACD of 2026.
