“Why would I become a member?” is one of the frequently asked questions in any association. For W.S.G. Abacus it is answerable in three steps.

First of all the membership fee of €8.50 per year is less than the discount we offer you for your mathematics study books. You immediately save money when you become member! Abacus is an association which does not make a profit and that's why we sell books for such a low price; a lot cheaper than the retail store.

Secondly Abacus is an entire family of students with the same background: mathematics. We organize so many activities and events that you can see us as a student association. Every week we plan at least one activity, like a drink, excursion or lecture. Also, there is always something to talk about in the abacusroom, where you can always drink free coffee, tea and chocolate milk. Deep within we are a student association. We always try to stimulate our members in their studies, but also in sports and events which can be found on the campus.

Finally, the small size of the study often shows as a great advantage. You will not only know the students of your year, but also those in the years above and below you. They can always give you help when you need it.

To summarize: a member of Abacus has cheaper books, a great student life and a better study environment. What else do you want?
