Bjorn Borgelink and Eva Krolis from Qmicro will come give a lunch lecture.

Qmicro is specialized in the fabrication and development of so-called gas chromatographs (GCs). A GC is a machine that separates the different gas species from a sample and subsequently analyzes these gases by measuring their thermal conductivities in time. While integrating this time-dependent signal measures the gas concentration of the different gas species, the time-dependant derivative may help us with reducing measuring noise. Our talk will elucidate the working principle of our machine, with the focus on the measuring techniques and how mathematics is indispensable for the analysis of the data.
