About Feike Harmsen
Dear reader,
I am happy you are intrested enough to open this page to learn a bit more about me.
I am born at the saturday the 26th of February in 2005 in the Nilantstraat in Deventer. I am the forth in my family I have one older sister and two older brothers, luckely I am not the jongest because one and a half years later my younger sister is born.
The Nicest thing of being born in a big family is that there are a lot of other people around that are willing to play a board game with you a negative point of being with a big family is that the most games are not for that many people. This is one of the things that I learned from young onwards I had to play board games. At the start it was fun but I couldn't win from my older brothers and sisters. My parents find an idea for this, they only write your score in the box of the board game if it is the highest of all time, in this way you can lose but it stil gives a satisfing feeling because you were beter than last time.
When i was old enough to go to the primary school I went to Waldorf School "de Kleine Johannes" in Deventer. I had a very plesend time with lovely classmates. During this time I did a good job on the mathematics but my writing and spelling was a bit behind. I already did an Dislectia test on my primarary school with the result that I was to smart for the proof of dislectia. I was very sip but continued with my life.
I liked the way of teaching on my primary scool so for my secundary school I choose the just founded waldorf school "het Coberic" I was the first learning year on that school so with only 3 classes we formed the school and the feedback was really taking into account. Also it was easy to get things forbidden, for example Pepernoten. The story behind it was that some classmades played piet and threw through the whole aula pepernoten. It was everywere and the teachers weren't happy at all. Also was this school smartphone free, but still a lot of classmates tried to use the phone during the break, but what do you do if a teacher is walking in the aula? While than you shoud pompoen (pumpkin in english) so that everyone can hide there phone. It worked that good that some teachers make a sport of it to get the most phones during the break and to make it harder for themself when they enter the aula themself shoud POMPOEN! I think this really visualize how it is to sit on a small secundary school. The last half year of the 3 years that I spend here was also corona, a lot of teachers were like: just studie on your own make these excercises and then you are fine, except for math he doubled the amount of hours. Luckely he was also my mentor thus i wrote him an email with: my grades aren't that bad and I prefer to study on my own so can i skip these classes. And that was fine, so with only srudying on my own i finished this school.
I spend 3 years here because in Deventer as school you can do everything what you want in the first 3 years, and than there is a lot of choose, but there is one big school for the last 3 years. I didn't want to go too that big school so I want to the Waldorf school in Zutphen with the best name ever "vrije school zutphen" what translate to Waldorf school Zutphen. Here i made some new friends and choose for my profile NT&G with math D and geography. I didn't had to do french or german because I finally obtained my proof of dislectia on het Corberic. On this school I still enjoyed the math subjects the most fun, although chemistry also came close. I finished my final exams with a quite high standart deviation. Subrisingly my math grade was higher than a 9 and the grades for chemstri, physics and bioligy were also not bad, but both dutch and english were extreemly low, if i remember correcly 4.8 and 3.6. Luckely the rules of the central examination is that the average of all the grades should be higher than 5.5 and that was the case so i passed.
After the summer I start with the Bachelor of applied mathematics and joined the Kick-In in the do-group Appealing Marshmellows which was a lot of fun. I didn't had a student house, but one of my brothers was already studying here so I could use that room to stay during the Kick-In such that I could go to all the parties and don't have to keep in mind that i still have to take the train. After half a year studing I found myself settled enough to search for a student house. I told this to my student mentor (Amalie) and she told me that a friend of here (Eline) has an hospitation evening very soon so that I should send an e-mail. So I send a mail to Huize Margo, I may come to the hospitation evening and afterward I got offered the room. I accepted the room and I am still very happy with the house I am now living.
In my first year I only joined the Freshman Committee at Abacus, this was a lot of fun and I made the best minutes ever. In my second year I joined the Christmas dinner and the Ab-actie. The Christmas dinner didn't took place in my first year and I really liked the group of people that where in the Freshman Committe so I confinced the others to join the christmas dinner such that it will take place and it was with a fun group. The Ab-actie I joined because I like organising activities and I want to get in closer contact with the association. When the Christmas dinner was over I joined the Twick-In the introduction committee because I liked it as kiddo very much and helped a bit as parent. During my second year I also find out I really liked to be a student and that I want to prospone this part of my live a bit more. Also I want to improve some other skills than only studying and I like to get to know more people in Enschede. These results that I applied for a function in the board of W.S.G. Abacus.
Now jou think you know a lot of me, but I forgot one very big part in my live, and that is Scouting. When I was 5 I joined the the youngest group at Scouting Steyn in Deventer. I really enjoy it and from that moment I go on every saterday to the scouting. Now I am still active at the scouting and organise the opkomsten (gatherings in english) for the group of childeren of the age 11 tot 15.
This is all about me and I am happy you survived reading all of it.
Groetjes,
Feike Harmsen
