W.S.G. Abacus, the study association for Applied Mathematics at the University of Twente, organizes a symposium oriented on mathematics once again. This year, the symposium will take place on the 4th of June, in the theatre of Prismare.

The theme of this years symposium is “Nature's Numbers”. Sustainability is currently one of the most important research topics, as we can slow down climate change by becoming more sustainable. Mathematics can be used to make many different processes sustainable, with which we can preserve our nature. From energy transport and more efficient packaging, to optimizing logistics and cleaning the ocean efficiently, there will be a variety of topics presented during this symposium, all from a mathematical point of view.

The orators that will contribute to the symposium, and their topics, can be found here.

You can enrol for the symposium here. Enrol before the 20th of May to be sure of a nice lunch and goody bag! The full program of the day can be found here. You will also find some information about all lectures and lecturers there.
