Peter Bosschaart - KPMG
Hi!
I'm Peter and I've studied Applied Mathematics at the UT from 2007-2013. I've really enjoyed my college days in Enschede and at Abacus – in 2009-2010 I was chairman of the 42nd board, and throughout the years I've participated in many committees. I was one of the last students in the AM Financial Engineering master track, which combined stochastics, systems & signals theory, and finance.
After graduating I started working as a consultant in the Financial Risk Management team within KPMG Advisory, and have been doing so for nearly 10 years now. With FRM we assist clients in the financial services sector with their risk management challenges; both quantitative and qualitative. The team consist of about 150 colleagues of diverse nationalities, gender, and study backgrounds (also non-financial, like maths and physics). To me it almost feels like Abacus – besides all the serious work, we also organize a lot of social activities, like sports events, trips, lectures, and drinks. Content wise I mainly focus on quantitative engagements in the insurance sector myself – aiding clients in optimizing their models & modelling environments, and performing portfolio valuations / analyses. Happy to tell you all about it, and about the other opportunities at KPMG as a mathematician (a.o. Data & Analytics, and Forensic Technology).
