Ruben de Baaij & Sietske van der Honing - Capgemini

Ruben de Baaij

My name is Ruben de Baaij and since January 2025 I have been working at Capgemini as an Application Consultant. In this position, I help clients of Capgemini implement complex technology projects. The projects range from technical to organisational issues and differ per client. This makes every project a new challenge. Examples of projects are; developing and integrating new software applications, investigating and optimising business processes or migrating applications to the cloud. Capgemini gives a lot of room to develop yourself in terms of hard skills, soft skills, and the client's areas of expertise. This allows me to direct myself to the type of assignment I like to work on in the sectors that appeal to me most. For example, since March I have been working at grid operator TenneT on the integration of new software to model the high-voltage grid.

In 2021, I graduated with the specialisation in Mathematical Systems Theory, Applied Analysis and Computational Science (SACS) at the University of Twente. The knowledge to solve complex problems still comes in handy in my work every day.

Sietske van der Honing

Hello all, my name is Sietske van der Honing. I studied mathematics at UT in 2012, eventually graduating with an AM master's degree in December 2017. My specialisation was Mathematical Systems Theory, Applied Analysis and Computational Science (SACS), here I mainly focused on Computational Science. After obtaining my master's, I started working at Capgemini.

I have had several client assignments here, sometimes as a Data Engineer and most recently as a Full Stack Engineer.

Capgemini is a company that works together with many different companies in different sectors, from the financial sector (Rabobank, ABN Amro etc.), the public sector (various municipalities, Dutch police etc.) to Retail (Action, Nike, etc.) and many others. During my time, I learned a lot about networking to get the correct assignments. My studies have been a good foundation to support my daily tasks. Both analysing code using Set Theory and reducing complex problems into smaller solvable steps is something I still use daily.
