Marleen van Brandenburg & Ivo Liebregts - ASML
Marleen van Brandenburg
I am Marleen van Brandenburg. I work for ASML in the warehousing team. In this team, we work on cost-effective and productive warehousing processes in all of the 50 warehouses around the world. This is a very dynamic environment. Where ASML is a high-tech company, the operational processes did not always get the right attention during the rapid growth of the company. It is nice to contribute to making the processes efficient such that these can be done with fewer people and with fewer issues towards our customers. I do not do so much with Applied Mathematics anymore, as I am now in the manager's role. However, in my team, we are working on forecasting models to predict the size of the warehouse for the future. Also, we do analyze big data sets. It is very helpful to have a background in Applied Mathematics. I graduated from Applied Mathematics in 2002 with a specialisation in Operations Research.
Ivo Liebregts
Hi, I am Ivo Liebregts and studied Applied Mathematics from 1995 until master graduation in SACS specialisation (at the time Signal & System Theory) in 2001. After graduation, I started working at ASML in an engineering job combining physics and mathematical models. In all the years since, I helped to bring new ASML machines, incl. EUV, to the market, while changing competence areas, and growing as a person with more leading roles. ASML gave me the opportunity to work with very talented people, work abroad for 2 years, and work with all our major customers. Since 2023, I work as Product Manager (Marketing) for our newest high-end DUV systems. I connect with our customers to make sure we develop systems they need to ensure their business is profitable, and guide them through the new product introduction phase once available.
ASML
ASML is a high-tech company that makes lithography machines for customers that produce chips. The machines of ASML can produce lines on a chip of a couple of nanometers. ASML has a special position in the semiconductor industry as it is the only company in the world that makes these high-tech machines.
